Saturday at the South Carolina Botanical Garden, the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. A tree had fallen in the lake and these 19 snapping turtles were taking advantage of the warm afternoon.
Sunday afternoon I was driving through Galivants Ferry. I had been looking for good shots all weekend but no luck. Then I saw this field, acres and acres of Blue Bonnets. The camera just doesn't do it justice.
I got a nifty new Nikkor 80-400mm VR lens recently. I'm still learning how
to use it. Today at lunch I saw this Blue Jay in this bush, then in that
tree, then I finally caught him. I would have never gotten the shot with my
regular lens, but it's still not as sharp as I'd like.
A few days ago, I went for a walk in my hometown. I came upon a friend of the family that I hadn't seen for awhile. We talked about cameras, family, and folks who have passed on. I have been trying to get more experience with portraits. Jim indulged me.
