Catching Some Rays

Saturday at the South Carolina Botanical Garden, the sun was out and it was
a beautiful day. A tree had fallen in the lake and these 19 snapping
turtles were taking advantage of the warm afternoon.

A Sea of Blue

Sunday afternoon I was driving through Galivants Ferry. I had been looking
for good shots all weekend but no luck. Then I saw this field, acres and
acres of Blue Bonnets. The camera just doesn't do it justice.

Skeletons

The afternoon sun really brings out the white bark of the birch trees.

Blue Jay

I got a nifty new Nikkor 80-400mm VR lens recently. I'm still learning how to use it. Today at lunch I saw this Blue Jay in this bush, then in that tree, then I finally caught him. I would have never gotten the shot with my regular lens, but it's still not as sharp as I'd like.

A few days ago, I went for a walk in my hometown. I came upon a friend of the family that I hadn't seen for awhile. We talked about cameras, family, and folks who have passed on. I have been trying to get more experience with portraits. Jim indulged me.
